App Menu

Click the PowerPic icon in the menu bar to open the app menu — it’s the home for everything outside the editor.

Actions

Capture Grab a region of your screen (⌘⇧6).
Paste Open an image from the clipboard in the editor.
Open… Open an image file (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, WebP), a PDF (pick the page and it’s rasterized), or a .powerpic project.
History Your recent captures (clock badge) and saved/opened .powerpic projects (folder badge), newest first — click the item to reopen it. Past captures are cached locally - click the trash icon to purge (recoverable from the macOS Trash).
Settings… See below (⌘,).
Online Docs… Opens this site.
Send Feedback… Report a bug or request a feature from inside the app.

Settings

Launch at startup Runs PowerPic when you log in.
Capture shortcut Record your own combo (default ⌘⇧6), or take over the native ⌘⇧4 (requires Accessibility permission).
Remember style per tool Restores each tool’s last-used style.
Cursor coordinates Shows a live X, Y pixel badge over the canvas.
Close after save Closes the editor after Copy / Export / Save.
AI providers Paste your Google Gemini API key (stored in the Keychain).
Blank canvas color Fill color when a crop expands past the image.
