Terms of use
PowerPic is provided free of charge by Peter Morawiec ("the author"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.
- License. You may download and use PowerPic for personal or commercial purposes. The software and its branding remain the property of the author; you may not resell, rebrand, or redistribute modified copies.
- No warranty. PowerPic is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. It is beta software; features may change or break.
- Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any damages arising from the use of (or inability to use) PowerPic, including lost data, lost profits, or incidental or consequential damages.
- Your content. You are responsible for what you capture, annotate, and share, and for having the rights to do so.
- Changes. These terms may be updated from time to time; the current version always lives on this page.
Privacy
- Your work stays local. Screenshots, annotations, file history, and settings are stored only on your Mac (under
~/Library/Application Support/PowerPicand wherever you save files). Our servers exist to serve this site, the download bundles, and to store minimal anonymized usage stats (see below). None of your work or content is ever sent to the author. - Anonymous usage data. For the author to gauge what's worth improving, PowerPic reports a small amount of usage data — which features get used, and usage frequency. The data is associated with a random ID, not with you or your device, and your IP address is never stored. It goes to the author's own database on Cloudflare — there is no third-party analytics service involved — and raw events are automatically deleted after 90 days. It is never sold or shared with anyone. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage data.
- AI features are opt-in per request. Apple Intelligence runs entirely on-device. If you choose a cloud provider — Google Gemini or OpenAI — and supply your own API key, then each time you issue a prompt, your prompt text and your current image + annotations are sent to that provider for processing, under Google's API terms or OpenAI's policies respectively. Your keys are stored in the macOS Keychain.
- Feedback. The optional Send Feedback form transmits your inquiry (plus your app version, macOS version, and locale), and files it as a GitHub issue in the author's private repository. Including your email is optional.
- This website is a static site served by Cloudflare; we set no cookies and run no trackers in your browser. Our CDN processes standard request logs, from which we see only aggregate stats (e.g. downloads by country).
